Coming to a CD or MP3 Player Near You….

I must take a brief detour from farming to promote something that keeps me sane when the farm overwhelms me: writing romantic adventure novels. I’ve done three, and would love to do more, but probably won’t have time until next year.

Anyone out there listen to audio books? I’m afraid I’m a paper reader myself, but I have friends who love to listen as they drive.

I love outtakes. (I seem to be taking a long time to get to the point—adventure, audio books, and outtakes? Guess I’m having one of those Lack of Focus days!) The gag reel is always my favorite part of any DVD. As someone who writes memoir, I like to make fun of myself. So I was planning to post here the outtakes from when I narrated my novel, A Pirate’s Heart, as an audio book.

Alas, the outtakes aren’t ready, but the audio book is. So you can listen first to the stuff I did right, then in a month or two I’ll try to post the stuff I did wrong! (When you read out loud in a little sound booth for 6-7 hours a day for 7 days….the mouth eventually disconnects from the brain and says whatever it wants.)

The book is available on CD, and I think they’re working on making it available via download as well. After you’ve purchased and listened, please consider donating it to your library.

So if you need another listening book for your summer, might I recommend a pirate adventure? www.dogearaudio.com

We now return you to your regularly scheduled farm blog.

  1. Very cool! I go thru audio books pretty quickly since I have a 1 hr commute to and from work everyday. Will this be an unabridged audio? Please let us know if/when its available for MP3 players!

  2. WoolGrower…sorry about the late reply. I’ve been out of town. (recording another audio book!)

Yes, it’s unabridged, and I think it’s now available as a dowload. Check at dogearaudio.com

    Thanks!

The Big Pivot

About Me

After twenty-five years on the farm, I’m adjusting to the adventures of city life. Part of that adjustment is figuring out what I want to write about now, since sheep are no longer part of my daily life. I’m challenging myself creatively by painting with pastels and playing the ukelele as I seek my new writing path.
